Jeffery Signs With Philadelphia
The Chicago Bears lose their star receiver Alshon Jeffery to the Philadelphia Eagles. The possession receiver signed a one-year, $14 million deal according to ESPN.
The Bears now lose the other piece of their receiver duo after Brandon Marshall departed for the New York Jets years-ago.
Jeffery joins Philadelphia with Torey Smith, who signed with the Eagles earlier today for a three-year deal. He now bets on himself after Jeffery turned down a secured multi-year deal from the Minnesota Vikings told by Ian Rapoport via Twitter.
The Eagles get a guy to go and get it alongside a speedster. Jeffery has been showered with injuries his whole career but the 27-year-old still has a lot of football left in him.
Now, the South Carolina stud recorded 106 receptions for 1,628 yards and six touchdowns over the last two seasons. In fact, over his 18 games neither season would be fully completed.
The Bears continue to clean house and surround their newly signed quarterback Mike Glennon. Glennon will sign a three-year deal with the Bears.
The Eagles will try to use the two pickups for their rookie quarterback Carson Wentz. They hope the chemistry goes well and the offense elevates this season.
