Bravo‘s Andy Cohen has finally spoken about the firing of Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Phaedra Parks. The executive producer and talk show host was recently seen out at the NBC Universal Upfronts, where he talked about the incident during an interview.
According to Andy, Bravo basically knew that Phaedra would have to go after they wrapped Season 9’s reunion special. The problem wasn’t the fact that she lied or spread damaging rumors about her castmates. Phaedra was let go because none of the ladies wanted anything to do with her. It claims that it would be next to impossible to film the show with Phaedra if no one would talk to her or film with her.
During the reunion, it was revealed that Phaedra was the one who spread the rumors about Kandi Burruss and her husband Todd Tucker wanting to drug Porsha Williams and take her back to their house to sexually assault her. No one expected Phaedra to stoop so low and the information caused a huge blow up on the show. Soon after there were rumors that Phaedra’s lies and rumor spreading were the reasons why Bravo let her go.
Andy also shed some light on the situation with Phaedra blaming the producers of setting her up. Known reality television producer, Carlos King‘s, name has been brought up several times as the person who fed Phaedra the lies and rumors. Andy says that would never happen. Mostly, because the producers actually don’t know anything that’s going on. They ask questions to gain clarity on situations, but they would never tell someone to do something that would damage anyone’s life or relationships.
Either way, Phaedra’s behind was going out the door. If Bravo hadn’t taken action then Kandi probably would’ve. She has since stated that she wants Bravo to take some sort of action towards Phaedra’s unacceptable behavior. Also, she has revealed that she is considering suing both Porsha and Phaedra.
