Although Dennis Basso may be best known for his stunning, luxurious furs, the talented designer has illustrated his passion for bridal as well. Basso debuted his latest Fall 2018 bridal collection for Kleinfeld’s on Thursday, October 5th during New York Bridal Fashion Week.
Basso’s wedding gowns were feminine and elegant, each with intricate details and features that made them stand apart from most other bridal gowns.
This bridal gown exemplifies that when you mix chic and elegant together, the results are magic. This white gown featured ruffles on the skirt and the wide, open neckline. This structured gown would be perfect for a daring bride, looking to make a statement.
Cinderella called, she wants her dress back. This full skirt ballgown was seriously fit for a princess. As the model traipsed down the runway, the dress glittered and dazzled. The gown featured illusion netting sleeves and intricate beading that covered the entire dress.
This was one of my favorite looks from the collection because Basso was not afraid to introduce a look that was conservative or covered up. The gown’s skirt was embroidered with lace and beading, and sat on top of a cream underlay. The beautiful embroidery carried through the bodice and cuffs. However the real work of art was the netting that covered the model’s upper body and then sat in a perfect bow under her neck. Who ever said conservative can’t be sexy?
Basso turned his last model into a bride ready for the alter, complete with a cathedral length veil and a bouquet of flowers. The details on this gown were amazing in person. Embroidered lace covered the entire bodice and skirt, as well as the veil. The crowd seemed to all drop their jaws in unison when this finale look took the runway.
Basso’s Fall 2018 Collection for Kleinfeld’s was all that you’d expect from the designer, and even more. He managed to create designs that were unique and daring, while remaining true to the classic, polished look that so many bride’s hope to embody on their wedding day.
