G-Star Raw’s Spring/Summer 2018 Collection features denim that was designed in their Raw Research Innovation Laboratory. The new line consists of jeans, tops, jackets, and accessories and is inspired by “original workwear, military, and sports pieces from the brand’s internal archive.”
The denim company will be releasing 3-D Denim through their new Motac-X Jeans. In order to develop this specific line of jeans, the Raw Research Innovation Laboratory studied motocross and the movement and motion of the body involved in that activity. The Motac-X jeans are not stiff and rigid like most other denim, but is soft and flexible, allowing the fabric to move along with you instead of restricting you. The Motac-X design will be available for both men and women and will be used in different sweaters and knits, as well.
G-Star Raw is also releasing the Spiral Jeans which feature a new approach to 3-D pattern cutting. One piece of fabric will wrap around the pant legs to produce “precisely integrated articulation in fit.”
Lastly, several pieces of the collection are inspired by archived designs. For example, Raw Correct consists of tailoring-inspired trenches and chinos for both men and women. There are also military and workwear inspired skirts, tops, and sweats called Hybrid Active.
