Warriors Defeat The Spurs In 4
Well, they are finished and they are done. The Golden State Warriors put the San Antonio Spurs and their fans out their misery. The ended the series in a sweep winning game four 129-115 Monday night.
Now that the snooze fest of the Western Conference Finals concluded the Warriors are now ready for the next chapter. In Associated Press, some of the players expressed how they are amped for the NBA Finals.
“We all know, obviously, who we’re going to play,” Stephen Curry said. “We’ll be watching the Eastern Conference Finals to see how that unfolds. But it will be easy to start this new chapter and really just lock in on what’s in front of us.”
He finished the game with 36 points according to ESPN. He also added five boards and shot well over 50% from the field.
Then, Kevin Durant showed up as well. He ended with a double-double that night. Durant scored 29 points on 10-13 shooting. He completed his outstanding performance with a monstrous 12 rebounds and a block that was sensational.
“We have a bigger goal in mind,” Durant said.
He better be ready for the Finals this year. In fact, the last time he faced off in one, the young KD was swept by a juggernaut team in Miami. That Miami Heat team was led by the leadership of Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and LeBron James.
Spurs coach Gregg Popovich had things to say about the Warriors.
“They’re really talented, but that’s not everything that describes them,” Popovich said. “This is maybe the best defensive team in the league on top of everything. So, they don’t just play with talent. They execute at the defensive end of the floor. On offense, no team is more unselfish finding the open man and that sort of thing.”
The Warriors now wait for someone to come out of the East. They should be locked and loaded with plenty of rest and practice before the Finals.
