James Harden named Western Conference player of the month

Rocketing to the top

The Houston Rockets are having a phenomenal season, and although basketball is a team sport, much of the credit here is due to James Harden.

The Houston Rockets are number one in the western conference with 17 wins and four losses. This high ranking has much to do with coaching, team leadership, and a man named James Harden.

Harden who was drafted from Arizona State in 2009 and previously played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, is leading his team back into the playoffs it seems.

Harden has been on a steady trend over the last month and has been awarded Kia‘s Western Conference player of the month by scoring an average of 31 points per game, 10 assists per game, 94 three-pointers, and 168 free throws over the last month.

Although there is much of the season left to go if the Rockets keep on this winning track they are sure to go into the postseason strong. At the moment, they are the strongest team to give the Boston Celtics a run for their money.
