Macy’s recently announced their collaboration with designer Kobi Halperin. The collection will be called KOBI and will only last a limited-time in stores and online.
Kobi Halperin designs women’s apparel for high-end department stores such as Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus. He has described his clothing as, “for the women who celebrate getting dressed everyday.”
He aims to take everyday outfits and elevate them into works of art. His pieces are known for their intricate detail and Eastern European influences. It will be interesting to see how Halperin maintains this same attention to detail while catering to a more affordable price point in his new collaboration with Macy’s.
Halperin commented on the upcoming collaboration saying, “I love how my collection has the ability to bring out both confidence and femininity and I am excited to be able to share that with the Macy’s customer with this capsule collection I designed exclusively for them.”
Here is one look from the upcoming collection:
The model sports a burgundy off the shoulder top and black cropped pants, both covered in intricate, embroidered detailing. The ensemble captures Halperin’s love for clothing that elicits both femininity and elegance. This could be worn to work just as easily as it could be worn out to dinner or out on a date. The top and pants will be sold for $99 each, which is much lower than Halperin’s normal price points, where a dress could easily cost $500.
The collection will include blouses, sweaters, dresses, jumpsuits, pants, and jackets. It will be available in 149 Macy’s stores and online once it’s available to the public on August 15th.
