Mario Testino Shoots For Carolina Herrera’s Fall Campaign In NYC

For her 35th anniversary, Venezuelan-American fashion designer Carolina Herrera has returned to New York City for the company’s fall campaign.

According to WWD, Mario Testino photographed Lily Aldridge, Grace Elizabeth and Maria Borges in New York where the brand was first established. The looks resemble the classic family portraits with bold looks and modern sensibility. One photo featured the models wearing white shirts, which is Herrera’s signature look and a piece from her collection. To tie the look together, each model wore a slim black tie to their white shirts.

There’s another shot that shows Aldridge and Elizabeth in velvet and effortlessly layered organza gowns that are meant to evoke the craftsmanship known to the designer’s New York atelier.

A newcomer to Herrera’s campaign is the Angola-born Maria Borges, who recently became the first African model to make it on Elle magazine cover. Meanwhile, Testino is a five-time collaborator and is still going strong. Also, the company will also be featuring the campaign on domestic fashion and lifestyle magazines.

In addition to his work for Herrera, Testino has his very own cover with Kate Moss, Stella Tennant, Edie Campbell, Jean Campbell and Nora Attal for British Vogue. Sotheby’s auction of his private art collection is slated for Sept. 13 and 14 in London to benefit his museum in Peru — Museo Mate. Also, another way to keep the art of his homeland standing, Testino recently published, “77 Contemporary Peruvian Artists,” which focuses on the caliber of contemporary art in his country. He’s also keeping up with his podcast series on Mira Mira. Following his steps, Patrick Kinmonth, opera director, designer, filmmaker, writer, and artist will be Testino’s next guest. However, Kinmonth will mainly be of a more fashion-focused Kendall Jenner.
