Mississippi State Bulldogs Leads SEC Recruiting News and Notes

Last weekend was the first weekend of conference play in the SEC and the big winner coming out of the weekend was the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Coach Dan Mullen and the Bulldogs are once again trending upwards and a strong 2018 recruiting class is a good sign that the momentum should continue.

The Bulldogs have racked up 23 verbal commits for the class of 2018. The 2018 class of Bulldogs is currently ranked 18th in the country, according to 247 Sports.

Dan Mullen and the Bulldogs have brought in another dual threat quarterback from Sachse, TX. Jalen Mayden is a 4-star dual threat quarterback that committed back in May. Mayden has 20 offers and Mississippi State being able to snag him over Louisville and Baylor, lays the foundation for what will be another solid football team over the next few years.

Mississippi State will be tested this weekend when they take on the Georgia Bulldogs. For Dan Mullen and his staff in Starkville, being able to keep the momentum going on the field will generate more success in the recruiting process.

The Bulldogs should be very active, right up until National Signing Day and they also bear watching throughout the season.

For our recruit to keep an eye on, we will dip into Florida. Avonta Crim out of Vanguard High School in Ocala, FL, is a safety that could should up the recruiting boards as the year progresses.

Crim is a good coverage safety and he is not afraid to deliver a hard hit. Louisville, Wake Forest, and Central Florida have all extended an offer and each has a good shot of bringing this three-star safety in.

In any event, Crim will be a recruit to watch as National Signing Day approaches.
