The National Releases New LP and VR Documentary

A highly anticipated return

The National recently released their newest LP Sleep Well Beast. The album was produced by member Aaron Dessner with co-production by Bryce Dessner and Matt Berninger. It was mixed by Peter Katis and recorded at Aaron Dessner’s Hudson Valley, New York studio, Long Pond, with additional sessions having taken place in Berlin, Paris and Los Angeles.

The National just kicked off their World Tour in Philadelphia earlier this week, where World Cafe and NPR Music hosted a First Listen Live performance and the band performed their new album to a sold out crowd.  The band will also be performing their new record in a special, intimate show at Bowery Ballroom exclusively for SiriusXM.  On September 9th, the band will be featured on CBS This Morning – Saturday.  The New York Times have also debuted a new VR documentary, The National: Something Out of Nothing, which takes viewers behind the scenes as the band crafted new songs for Sleep Well Beast.

This new, highly anticipated LP is the band’s first since 2013. The combination of LP and VR Documentary being released together has garnished a lot of press for the band and has added to the overall hype for the group’s new project.

You can purchase the album for the 4AD Store HERE.
