Tennessee-bred rock stars Paramore are back with new music. The groove-oriented single/video “Hard Times” is a colorful affair that is about the catchiest thing that will be heard all year.
Taken from the first new album in four years, After Laughter, “Hard Times” certainly suggests that the band continues to branch out and mature.
Thanks to their label Fueled By Ramen, Paramore’s vision remains true. The visuals for the clip that was directed by Andrew Joffe, is in sync with the album art.
Cohesive as the band’s relationships appear to be these days, the video is quirky in all the right ways.
After Laughter marks the return of drummer Zac Farro, who quit the band in 2010 along with his brother and bassist Jeremy.
Can a full reunion with both Farro brothers be in the works? That is not likely to happen at all.
Jeremy told NME last year that he doubts that he would even get asked.
“The thought has crossed my mind before, but I don’t think so,” Farro said.“It would be interesting to ever be asked to rejoin the band but I don’t think it would ever happen, and I wouldn’t join again because I’m trying to focus on my career and I really believe in my music.”
Paramore continues to ride full steam ahead. After Laughter was produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen and Paramore’s Taylor York.
