RB Eddie Lacy Inks With Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks finally figured out that their options at running back where mediocre at best.

A big contributing factor to their dismal 2016-17 season (or dismal by their standards) was the fact that they could never establish the run.

Quarterback Russell Wilson was the team’s scariest threat in that regard and he spent a large chunk of the year immobile thanks to a lower leg injury.

Fast forward to the present to receive the news that Seattle has inked former Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy to a one-year deal worth $5.5 million, including $3 million fully guaranteed.

His agents tweeted out the announcement and the NFL dropped the terms.

Lacy who has struggled with his weight and fitness has often been a work in progress. Yet, when he is good he has been sensational as a pro.

His highlight moments often showcase an ability to push off and discard opposing defenders like trash while displaying a rare one-cut move not often seen by power backs.

Still, injuries and other issues have also provided their fair share of low-lights that caused the Packers not to fight for his services as he left the frozen tundra.

This could go in a lot of different directions, but look for Lacy to thrive in Seattle.

Marshawn “Beast Mode” Lynch was another “get off of me” back that cemented his legacy under that regime.

Lacy may not rattle the fault line as Lynch did, but the odds are that a competitive yet supportive system and locker room will push him to him to live up to the promise that he displayed when he entered the NFL out of the University of Alabama.
