On Sunday, Real Housewives of Atlanta premiered the third part to its four-part Season 9 reunion special; and needless to say, it got really real.
Cynthia Bailey and Sheree Whitfield discussed their broken relationships with their ex-husbands. Friend of the show, Shamea Morton, makes a surprise visit to address the rumors surrounding her, and her beef with Phaedra Parks and alleged “bestie” Porsha Williams.
Not to be left out, Kenya Moore continues to offer her commentary in an already uncomfortable situation. And Kandi Burruss is not letting up on the women who threw major shots at her throughout the whole season.
The episode starts out with Bob Whitfield, Peter Thomas, Todd Tucker joining the ladies RHOA. Bob speaks on the abuse that he put Sheree through, while Peter and Cynthia talk little about why they broke up. Peter made it clear that he’s moved on and is in a new relationship.
But the two still manage to remain friendly. Todd is currently the last husband standing on the show. He and Kandi are the only married couple left, but all that will change if NeNe Leakes decides to rejoin the cast next season. There have been incessant rumors that the Queen of RHOA is coming back.
During the first part of this episode, Peter just can’t hold himself together. Before storming off set, he questions Porsha about her boyfriend Todd and makes comments about her “babynup” situation under his breath.
He even throws some shade at Phaedra about her divorce. Despite what Peter says, he works overtime to maintain his peach.
When Shamea Morton sits down on the couch, Porsha’s friendships are called into question. She’s accused of not being loyal to Shamea, who has been her best friend for years.
Specifically, during the incident when Phaedra talked about a rumor that Shamea sleeps around with married men and then insinuates that she has had sex with Kandi and Todd. Porsha stood by and let her “besties” name get slandered, when not too long ago she was defending Phaedra to Shamea.
The other ladies also question whether or not Porsha and Phaedra’s relationship is genuine. Dubbed as “Frick and Frack” by Andy Cohen last season, the two seem to be the closest women in the group, but most of the ladies think that it’s all for the cameras.
Though Peter is a close second, Shamea really does deserve a peach. Especially since Phaedra was reportedly fired from the shows, the producers should give her spot to Shamea.
Though the ladies of RHOA can be shady, she brings a deeper type of shade seen mostly from Mariah Huq or Quad Webb-Lunceford of Bravo‘s other Atlanta-based reality show, Married to Medicine. Who else misses the old days of Married to Medicine, when Mariah and Quad were friends and would go around singing “Miss Quad, Miss Quad. She got it, she got it.” like elementary school children. If Shamea wasn’t so close to Kandi and her friendship with Porsha wasn’t strained, those two could be the Mariah and Quad of RHOA.
True to form, they best saved for last. Kandi and Porsha battled over their lesbian history. It’s no secret that Kandi has had experiences with girls in the past, but she’s angry at Porsha for denying trying to hook up with her while drunk. However, their biggest issue is the fact that Porsha accused Kandi and her husband of trying to drug and rape her.
When asked about it, Porsha claims that she cannot talk about the situation since she received a “cease and desist” letter from Kandi. She also reveals that Phaedra was the one who told her that Kandi wanted to take advantage of her.
Mouths dropped, heads rolled, and the Red Sea parted. The world was shocked to hear that Phaedra was the one who started the infamous “drug-rape” rumor.
The trailer for the reunion implied that Phaedra might have been the one to start the rumor, but everyone knows that sometimes they’re purposely misleading to keep the viewers guessing. Who would have thought that Phaedra would have committed an act that she could not defend against or give a reasonable answer for?
The last part of the explosive four-part Real Housewives of Atlanta Reunion special airs next Sunday, May 7th at 8 PM EST on Bravo.
