Gorgon City has raised the bar with the release of their new EP, Grooves On The Vinyl.
Kye Gibbon and Matt Robson-Scott set the wheels in motion when they came onto the scene back in 2012 under the name Gorgon City. The duo swiftly gained momentum, and they’re now one of the most renowned names in the industry.
Their heart-pumping house jams have made them a staple in the scene, and their new EP, Grooves On The Vinyl, only solidifies their position as such. The short collection of catchy tracks dropped December 1, 2017, and should not be missed.
“Grooves on the Vinyl” wastes no time getting into the nitty-gritty of it, with a deliciously dirty beat, minimalistic, yet intense vocals, and one trippy transition that marks the midway point. This ear worm is guaranteed to bring the party, whether it’s in the club or through headphones on a Monday morning commute.
“Trouble” keeps the energy high with a hypnotic buildup and a spine-tingling groove; it’s hard not to sway along. There’s a certain simplicity to the progression that’s captivating, while intermittent breaks in the flow keep listeners on their toes.
“Get Together” kicks up the tempo up a notch and really brings the energy. The fast-paced dance track is broken up by a few intermittent lulls. Like a rollercoaster of sound, the ups and downs add a special touch that works oh so well.
The album ends on an alternative version of”Grooves On The Vinyl.” The “Grooves On The Vinyl -Paul Woodford Remix-” adds an even heavier bass line and ups the tempo just a bit, giving the already killer jam even more danceability.
All in all Grooves On The Vinyl is the perfect addition to any house music fan’s repertoire, and is sure to bring any party to the next level. Definitely worth checking out.
