It has been five years since indie pop rock band RHYE put out their debut album Woman and began garnering the attention of critics and fans alike.
Since then the band has put out some singles, but not another full album. However, all that will change on Feb 2 hen they drop BLOOD, their long awaited full length return.
In order to get the hype train going, they have put out a heartfelt, comforting single “Song for You”.
“Song for You” is something not too often heard any more in this day and age. It has such a soft, smooth 70’s R&B kind of atmosphere. At the same time though, it holds down a Bossa nova rhythm.
It’s an interesting fusion to say the least. “Song for You” is the definition of chill out music. This is something to put on after a long stressful day and the time has come to mellow out.
At the same time though, “Song for You” is not just straight up mood music with no meaning or lyrical depth. RHYE front man Miloshi puts it best when he describes the track saying:
“‘Song for You’ was written for her. Listen to it in a way where it becomes your own. It holds a lot of emotion and occupies a special place both in my heart and as the heart of this new album.”
BLOOD is available for pre-order here. Fans who pre-order will instantly receive downloads of “Song for You” as well as the songs “Count to Five”, “Taste”, and “Please”. RHYE will also be kicking off a world tour Feb 1 starting in Mexico City, Mexico. For more dates and tickets, go here.
