Wondaland Records‘ Roman GianArthur just released his new single “Real Love, No Shade”. It’s a Summer love song that’s perfect for all the BBQs, cookouts, beach parties, day parties, and any other function that take place during the hot months. Because the cold vocals that Roman’s putting down will leave listeners totally refreshed.
The song features Roman’s smooth and soulful vocals to the backdrop of some funky instrumentals. Obviously, it’s 70s inspired, but it manages to retain modern appeal. Very reminiscent of Curtis Mayfield or Bobby Womack, when they had their solo careers in the 70s. But with a little more modern soul that will make you lose yourself in the music.
Roman has been spotlighted by Rolling Stone as an artist who people need to get to know. As a member of Janelle Monae‘s Wondaland Records collective, he’s not only contributed to so some of her solo albums but also had his single “iKnow” featured on the Wondaland Presents: The Eephus. The EP also consists of Jidenna‘s hit single “Classic Man”, which is a song that Roman is featured on.
It’s an exciting time for Roman. He recently gave an amazing performance at the 2017 BET Awards. He gave a tribute to legendary Rock & Roll pioneer Chuck Berry. Who died in March of this year at the age of 90, due to a cardiac arrest.
Roman plans on releasing more new music later in the summer. We can possibly expect to get a collection of music in the form of an EP or an album. However, there’s no doubt that anything he puts out will be well worth the wait. As we’ve seen from most of Wondaland Records’ artists, their music and creativity are absolutely on another level.
“Real Love, No Shade” is now available for streaming on SoundCloud.
