Multimedia personality Donnie Simpson will return to radio and TV to deliver more soul to the mainstream.
As the former host of Video Soul, a two-hour music video show that ran for 15 years on BET, Simpson interviewed some of the top artists in the industry such as Bobby Brown, Mariah Carey and Jodeci.
Video Soul played videos, hosted surprise guests and helped reunite several groups.
Simpson recently announced that he has the itch back.
On Facebook Simpson broke the news by posting a “Guess who is back!” video where he states that he will be returning to radio starting on August 17th and he is set to hit the airwaves of Majic 102.3FM out of Washington, DC. Donnie was not ashamed to show his excitement as he states, “I am coming back! That’s right! To radio and TV so I’m really excited about this.” From the looks of it his fans are excited too as the video has already had over 117k views within five hours of him posting it.
Simpson goes on to say, “It’s been a long time since I did Video Soul on BET but I’m returning and I’m going to be on TV One.” MajicDC.com reports that Radio One and TV One inked an exclusive multi-media deal for the DC-based radio station and TV One specials for the beloved host as he comes out of retirement. Donnie left the Washington D.C. radio airwaves in 2010 culminating a 41 year media career in radio, television and movies and after five years off he’s ready to come back.
