It’s time to get all the fantasy football updates before Week 6 in the NFL. Here are this week’s inactives from before this Sunday.
RB Karlos Williams (concussion, out); DE Jared Allen (back, out); CB Joe Haden(concussion, out); TE Eric Ebron (knee, out); LB DeAndre Levy (hip, out); DTHaloti Ngata (calf, out); LB Jadeveon Clowney (ankle, out); WR Marqise Lee(hamstring, out); DT Dontari Poe (ankle, out); QB Ben Roethlisberger (knee, out); TE Jordan Reed (concussion, out); CB Chris Culliver (knee, out); CBDeAngelo Hall (toe, out)
Here are the offensive stars that you need to know about.
WR Alshon Jeffery (Hamstring, questionable):
Alshon Jeffery is expected to return from a hamstring injury that has kept him out for multiple weeks. This is huge for fantasy owners, make sure to get him in you lineup with Martellus Bennett not 100% healthy and Eddie Royal listed as questionable.
RB T.J. Yeldon (Groin, inactive):
T.J. Yeldon will miss the first game of his career with a groin injury against the Houston Texans. With Yeldon out, it would be smart to pick up either Toby Gerhart or Denard Robinson to help your fantasy team this week.
TE Martellus Bennett (Quadriceps, questionable):
Martellus Bennett is expected to play against the Detroit Lions today for the Bears. With Alshon Jeffery returning, it would be wise to have Bennett in your lineup. The Lions have a porous pass defense and Jeffery will grabbing extra attention with his return to the field. Bennett could be in line for at least a touchdown catch this week.
QB Tyrod Taylor (Knee, questionable):
Tyrod Taylor will suit up for today’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals but E.J. Manuel will get the start. There’s a small chance that Taylor would play if Manuel doesn’t play well but it’s likely that Manuel is going to be the guy today in a very tough matchup against the Bengals.
WR Davante Adams (Ankle, inactive):
Fantasy football owners will be upset to hear that Davante Adams will not play against the San Diego Chargers today. The only encouraging news is that Adams will likely return after the Bye week. This means that Randall Cobb and James Jones will continue to have plenty of value while Adams is out.
QB Andrew Luck (Shoulder, questionable):
After sitting out last week, Andrew Luck will be good to go for the Colts showdown with the Patriots this weekend. The Colts don’t play until Sunday night so Luck will have plenty of time to keep his arm warm. There’s no way he was going to miss this game, and start him against the Patriots at your own risk.
WR Steve Smith Sr. (Back, questionable):
Steve Smith will be back in the lineup this week after missing last week’s clash with the Cleveland Browns. This is great news for fantasy football owners because Smith has been phenomenal this season and is the only viable passing option in the offense. Crockett Gilmore and Kamar Aiken’s value go down even more this week against the 49ers.
RB Justin Forsett (Ankle, questionable):
Justin Forsett should be fine to play against the San Francisco 49ers this week. Forsett’s ankle sprain was not that serious and he sat out a practice or two to give it rest. The Ravens said he will test the ankle before the game and that’ll depend on much he plays if at all. If he gets pulled last minute, have Javorious Allen ready to start this week.
RB Marshawn Lynch (Hamstring, questionable):
Marshawn Lynch will also make his return to the field this week after missing last week’s loss to the Bengals. Lynch’s return will mean that Thomas Rawls and Fred Jackson will continue to share the rest of the carries. Lynch will have a tough matchup against the Carolina Panthers defense who has Luke Kuechly coming back into the lineup.
WR Demaryius Thomas (Neck, questionable):
Demaryius Thomas was listed as questionable going into Sunday’s match with the Cleveland Browns. However, he’ll play against the Browns which makes him a must-start player this week.
RB Isaiah Crowell (Back, questionable):
Isaiah Crowell will be playing against the Denver Broncos this week. The thing is, Crowell probably isn’t worth starting this week anyway. Crowell will be sharing time with rookie Duke Johnson Jr. against a very stout Denver Broncos defense. The Browns are very likely to be one dimensional in this week’s matchup.
RB Matt Jones (Toe, inactive):
Matt Jones will not be available against the New York Jets today with a toe injury. This injury could have been an opportunity for Alfred Morris and Chris Thompson to step up but it’s not likely to happen against the New York Jets. It’s not worth starting either Morris or Thompson.
