Choose or lose is Salute Magazine‘s version of the weekly start ’em, sit ’em fantasy football picks. Week 11 offers up some great matchups but also some decisions that need to be made as to who to start over some other players.
Jets Defense at Houston
Gang Green gave up 22 points to the Bills last week but should have better success this week against the Texans in Houston. The starting quarterback looks to be T.J. Yates because of Brian Hoyer‘s concussion, but the team did claim Brandon Weeden off of waivers from the Cowboys. The Jets could be the defense of the week in this game and Texans’ fans could be leaving this game early.
Seahawks Defense vs. San Francisco
There has always been bad blood between these two teams, but Seattle is probably going to be hitting a little harder on defense this week after a tough loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday Night Football last week. Blaine Gabbert will get the start for the Niners in this game, but don’t expect him to win this game in Seattle. The Seahawks seem to have the division on lockdown when they play at home in the past few years and this matchup will be no different.
Bengals Defense at Arizona
The Bengals have a solid defensive unit but they will be tested by the high-flying Cardinals‘ offense which is led by Carson Palmer, a former Bengals quarterback. Cincinnati played and lost in an ugly game on Monday Night Football against a bad Texans’ team and they are looking at a second consecutive loss after starting the season with eight straight wins. Stay away from the Bengals’ defense this week or you could be looking at negative points.
Bills Defense at New England
The Bills gave up 40 points to Brady and the Patriots in their Week 2 matchup, and allowed 466 passing yards and three touchdown passes. While the Patriots’ offense looks slightly different in Week 11, you should shy away from starting the Bills’ defense. Another note about Brady this season: He has thrown at least two touchdown passes in every game this season. Do not take a chance by starting Buffalo on Monday night.

Vikings Defense vs. Green Bay
Green Bay has given up the third fewest fantasy points to opposing defenses but they have looked terrible on offense in the past couple of weeks. The only reason that Minnesota is not a choose defense this week is because Aaron Rodgers is still the quarterback of the Packers, and he has the ability to shred defenses at any given time. If you have to, start the Vikings‘ defense, but don’t count on their points helping you win your fantasy matchup this week.
