Week 13 Choose or Lose: Quarterbacks

The 2015 season has provided fantasy football owners with several options at the quarterback position, and many of them are surprise players like Bills‘ QB Tyrod Taylor. It has been a season of depth at almost every position, but the waiver wire has been just as important as the draft was. Here are the Week 13 choose or lose quarterback picks.

Kirk Cousins vs. Dallas Cowboys

My start of the week is Cousins against a suspect Cowboys‘ defense. The Redskins have been hot recently and a lot of that starts at the quarterback position. It also helps that Desean Jackson appears to be back to his normal fantasy self after a big game against the Giants last week. This game is on Monday Night Football this week and the Redskins will be facing a Dallas team without Romo, and at home. Cousins has struggled against strong secondaries lately, but his defense might get him more opportunities in this one.

Jameis Winston vs. Atlanta Falcons

Winston has struggled at home in his rookie season, but I love this matchup against the Falcons from the standpoint of how bad they have looked on defense during their five-game losing streak. Atlanta is stuck in a huge rut and their defense is a big reason as to why they are there. Winston faces a Flacons’ defense that has given up the second fewest points to fantasy quarterbacks this season, but Winston is set for a big day to add to the Falcons’ losing streak.

Mark Sanchez/Sam Bradford at New England Patriots

Not much needs to be said here, other than the fact that Sanchez is nothing like he was at the beginning of his career in the NFL and Bradford is one snap away from being out for the season. They are facing a Patriots‘ defense that is susceptible in the secondary but they will want to obliterate the Eagles after losing their first game of the season last week to Denver. The one thing that Sanchez has going for him is that they will likely be playing from behind the entire game.

On the Bubble

Jay Cutler vs. San Francisco 49ers

Cutler hasn’t been his normal self this season, mainly because he hasn’t had many dumb turnovers, and Chicago is starting to play better lately. With that being said, he only has one touchdown pass the last two games but he is facing a very bad Niners’ defense in Chicago this week. He’s thrown for 2,510 yards, 14 TDs and only six interceptions, and the 49ers are an inconsistent bunch this season.
