The fantasy football semifinals are upon us and if you’re still in it to win it, it’s a good thing you’re with us. It’s vital that you follow all the latest injury updates to make last minute changes or pick up someone off the wire. Let’s get right into it. These are the players who have been ruled out before Sunday.
TE Crockett Gillmore (back, out); TE Charles Clay (back, out); RB Jonathan Stewart (foot, out); QB Andy Dalton (right thumb, out); S George Iloka (groin, out); TE Tyler Eifert (concussion, out); QB Peyton Manning (foot, out); S Omar Bolden (hamstring, out); WR Ty Montgomery (ankle, out); QB Brian Hoyer(concussion, out); QB Andrew Luck (abdomen, out); LB Justin Houston (knee, out); WR De’Anthony Thomas (concussion, out); LB Anthony Barr (groin, out); WR Charles Johnson (ankle, out); RB Marshawn Lynch (abdomen, out); LBDerrick Morgan (shoulder, out); WR Kendall Wright (ribs, out)
Here are the players who are unsure about playing today:
WR Alshon Jeffery (Calf, questionable):
Alshon Jeffery has been limited in practice all week but he is expected to play today against the Minnesota Vikings.
This is great news for fantasy owners considering the injuries he’s suffered this season. Alshon Jeffery is tough to stop and he sees plenty of targets, he should be fine.
WR Donte Moncrief (Toe, questionable):
Donte Moncrief is going to be a game time decision going into Sunday’s game against the Texans.
Moncrief has seen a significant decrease in his value since Matt Hasselbeck was forced to take over at quarterback. He also has a tough matchup this week against the Texans and even if he does play he likely won’t be effective.
TE Zach Miller (Ribs, questionable):
Zach Miller is dealing with a rib issue along with being sick but he should be able to play for the Bears today. Miller’s value has gone up significantly since Martellus Bennett was ruled out for the season. He should be a very good start for people who need a tight end, especially since it’s such a weak position.
QB Tom Brady (Illness, questionable):
The Patriots always put their players on their injury list even when the injuries aren’t significant. There’s no way Tom Brady is missing this game, even if it is against the Titans.
RB Andre Ellington (Toe, inactive):
Andre Ellington is out for another week due to a toe injury. This means that third string running back David Johnson will get the nod in his place.
Johnson has been a revelation for the Cardinals and he has a good matchup against the Eagles. Be sure to start him this week if you have him as the handcuff to Ellington.
RB Spencer Ware (Ribs, questionable):
Spencer Ware is fighting through a rib injury but he will most likely suit up for Kansas City Chiefs today. The Chiefs don’t have a great matchup this week against the Baltimore Ravens who still have a solid run defense. Ware might still be a decent option since he’s been getting most of the goal line carries.
RB C.J. Anderson (Ankle, questionable):
C.J. Anderson is expected to play for the Denver Broncos today. He has a decent matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers but the problem is that he’ll continue to share the workload with Ronnie Hillman. It’ll be very hit or miss with C.J. Anderson.
