Maybelline Gets “Bossed Up” with first Male Brand Ambassador Manny Gutierrez

The beauty industry has always been an industry that has catered mostly to the needs of women, especially huge drugstore brands, such as Cover Girl and Maybelline. Brands across the globe are realizing that now, more than ever, inclusivity and representation is what their consumers are craving, and they are finally coming through for their customers. In October of last year, Cover Girl made a progressive statement by naming their first male cover model, James Charles . Now, Maybelline New York is following suit with YouTube beauty guru, Manny Gutierrez (shown below).

Maybelline has been a staple beauty brand for years, especially with their classic Great Lash mascara. For their newest product, they have collaborated with YouTube stars Manny Gutierrez, known as “MannyMUA733,” and Shayla Mitchell also known as “MakeupShayla” who both have millions of social media followers on YouTube and Instagram.

If you have never heard of Manny, you will definitely become a fan after seeing the new ads for the Big Shot mascara campaign entitled “That Boss Life.” His persona in the new ad is just a little dusting of the talented, fun, over the top personality he displays on his channel where he teaches the masses how to beat a face for the Gods. Manny’s personality blends perfectly with Shayla Mitchell, another wildly popular makeup artist and YouTuber also featured in the campaign, who is known for her stunning looks, makeup skills and sassy, fun attitude.

Being a fan of both of these amazing talented makeup artists, it is easy to see why Maybelline New York chose them for the current campaign. Both Manny and Shayla have strong, fun, and carefree personalities and they both emphasize how important it is to be comfortable with yourself and live like a boss.
