After showing poise yet again after being harassed at a Tuscaloosa bar last week, Deshaun Watson continues to showcase the traits of a NFL quarterback.
Now comes word that after a strong pro day performance at Clemson, that the Browns would consider drafting him with the 12th pick on April 27.
If Deshaun Watson falls out of the Top 10, his price tag starts to become a bit more appealing when leveraged against his upside which is clearly tempting.
Barring major changes at the top end of the draft, our mock has Watson heading to the New York Jets, however Mary Kay Cabot reported that it plausible that Watson will end up entertaining the Dawg Pound.
The veteran Cleveland Plain Dealer beat writer shared her observations on Watson and other incoming players.
Watson worked out privately for the Browns last week, and visited them in Berea on Tuesday. The Browns have done plenty of due diligence on Watson, and like other teams, they seem to like his ability to step it up on the big stage and win games. I don’t think they’re seriously considering him at No. 1 overall and I don’t think they’d trade back up to get him, but I think they’d give him some thought at No. 12 or later in the round if he starts to fall. Some teams don’t want to like Watson, but he keeps checking off boxes.
Cabot’s a veteran that doesn’t blow a lot of smoke. Here she paints a scenario that is likely to come to pass if things align correctly.
Truthfully, this is a situation where a fall may be desired because there are only two destinations worse than Cleveland.
And until they clean up their very active dysfunction, the New York Jets are one of them.
