Linkin Park Collabs with Stormzy and Pusha T

Linkin Park are not strangers to collaborating. Their mash-up album Collision Course with Jay Z is a genre-bending classic.

Their latest “Heavy” features another artist that loves to play with sounds Kiiara, who drags out pop, hip-hop and alternative on work such as her hit single “Gold.”

As “Heavy” leads the way, LP has revealed that they have world class collaboration on their forthcoming project One More Light.

Singer Chester Bennington told The Box that they reached out to the grime superstar Stormzy just as he was about to find star status.

“Well Stormzy, it required us reaching out saying ‘Hey, we like Stormzy, here’s a track if you would like to participate on it, that would be awesome,” Bennington said.

“Apparently he was like, ‘yeah.’

“That wasn’t that difficult but we knew of Stormzy that’s why we reached out to him and we like Stormzy and we think that he’s dope. Little did we know that, he was about to take over the world.”

As a centerpiece of our recent salute to the history of Grime music, Stormzy is the new face of a genre that has long stood at it’s tipping point.

If a LP piece with Stormzy is not tempting enough, the song reportedly also features Virginia Beach icon Pusha T.

There are multiple reasons why One More Light due May 19, could be the band’s tourdeforce.

In 2015, Bennington stated that his days of doing double duty in both LP and Stone Temple Pilots were over.

“The last few years have been an amazing experience,” Bennington said in a statement. “I got to create and perform with one of the greatest rock bands of our generation that had so much influence on me growing up.

With the amount of time STP deserves, in addition to being in Linkin Park, and with the needs of my family, one of them always seems to fall short.

“Going into this, the four of us … Robert, Eric, Dean and myself knew what we were up against. We decided in due fairness to friends, fans and the legacy of STP that it needs more than time was allowing me,. “And in all fairness to my bandmates in Linkin Park, as well as to myself and to my family, I’m going to focus solely on Linkin Park so I can contribute 100 percent. It’s been an amazing experience and a dream come true, and I look forward to the future of both STP and Linkin Park.”

Fast forward to now, the end result of Bennington’s undivided attention will indeed come to light.
