The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute benefit, also known as the “Met Gala” held at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, is always one of the most anticipated events of the year for fashion lovers and art lovers alike.At this event, which is masterminded by the Queen of American style, Editor In Chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour, fashion becomes unhinged and reaches beyond the confines of popular culture. Each year, celebrities, socialites, politicians, and artists come together to raise funds for the Costume Institute. This year, the exhibition featured this year is “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between.” Rei Kawakubo is the genius Japanese designer and founder behind the luxury brand  Comme des Garçons.

The gala has a different theme every year, and since art is up to interpretation, you never can tell if the celebrities attending have successfully gotten the concept if it isn’t specific.
