Over the past year a lot of artists have paid homage to Prince. But none have done it quite the artist’s friend and frequent jam-partner Lenny Kravitz.
Kravitz and his backing band ( which apparently no longer includes drummer Cindy Blackman Santana), took to the stage of the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony to lay down soulful yet heated renditions of “ When Doves Cry” and ” The Cross.”
Vivid details will spoil the soup, but at the start of the memory Kravitz urges “the congregation” to get on their feet.
Kravitz didn’t just pull off the strongest goodbye to a musical legend, he created a piece of history that hopefully will be remembered as such.
