Joe Mauer has always been a bright spot for the Minnesota Twins, even through injuries. He has made a position change from catcher to first base, and does what the team asks of him.
On Friday night, he did something that he has never done before. Mauer hit a walk-off home run to lead the Twins to a 4-3 win over the Boston Red Sox at Target Field.
The six-time All-Star has struggled the past few years, but Friday night was a bright spot as his career winds down. Mauer also kept the Twins tied for first place in the AL Central at 15-13 (current standings).
