First Look: American Horror Story: Election

As if the real life version of this isn’t scary enough, Ryan Murphy just dropped the first look at the next installment of American Horror Story, and it is terrifying.

It is pretty safe to say Ryan Murphy has made a name for himself within the horror community with his widely popular FX Network television series American Horror Story. Since the end of season six, we have all been wondering where season 7 will take us. The new season will begin on the night of the last election, hence the name American Horror Story: Election. Many of the same cast members will return for this current season including Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Billie Lourd, and Billy Eichner.

The summer is nearing which means that filming for the next season will most likely start soon. Murphy opened an Instagram account and shared this frightening storyboard photo from the new season which gives us PURGE type chills.

Although it will take place on the night of the election, the story will not directly involve the presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton according to Murphy in an interview with E News.

“We don’t have actors playing them. You’ll see them on television. The first 10 minutes of the season, this season, takes place in a very eerie macabre way on election night and there’s something terrible that happens in the lives of our characters on election night as they’re watching it all go down. Which in itself was a horror story, so it’s like a horror story upon a horror story.” -Ryan Murphy

A Pandora’s Box of horror set on the stage of political fright night realized seems a little too creepy for comfort. Then again, isn’t that why we love this show so much?
