Gal Gadot Stuns at Wonder Woman Premiere

On May 25th, 2017 many DC Comics writers and artists were invited and attended the premiere of the DC Extended Universe’s newest film Wonder Woman. The premiere was held at The Pantages Theatre in Hollywood. The film’s release date perfectly aligns with the celebration of the character’s 75-year legacy.

According to the official DC website, Diane Nelson, President of DC Entertainment and Warner Brothers Consumer Products, joined DC Publishers Dan DiDio and Jim Lee, on the star-studded blue carpet.

DC Entertainment President and Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns joined Warner Bros. Co-President Jon Berg on the blue carpet as well.

A highlight from the blue carpet would have to be Geoff Johns reuniting with his former mentor Richard Donner, the director of the original Superman. Richard Donner brought the first, big-budget superhero movie to the big screen in 1978.

Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins, the first woman to direct a big-budget superhero movie. Gal Gadot reprises her role from Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice as the titular character. In the film, Wonder Woman’s origins are explored.

Before she was Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), she was Diana, Princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an American pilot (Chris Pine) who tells her about the massive conflict that’s raging in the outside world. ‘Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny.
