Kendall Jenner joined another famous family last week when she became an Adidas Originals ambassador.
The Victoria’s Secret Angel announced her newest collaboration on Instagram. A video showed her driving a golf cart in front of a wall that declared “Welcome to the family.” She was, of course, clad head to toe in the sportswear brand.
It truly is a family affair. Kanye West, husband of Jenner’s older half-sister Kim Kardashian West, successfully collaborates with the company for his Yeezy collection. The collaboration debuted in February 2015. It is so successful that last June, Adidas announced a long-term partnership to expand the Yeezy line. This includes hiring a team specifically for the West collaboration.
Jenner’s younger sister, Kylie Jenner, on the other hand, teamed up with Adidas’ competitor Puma back in 2016. West wasn’t happy about the collaboration, tweeting that “1000% there will never be a Kylie Puma anything.” Despite this, Kylie is the star of Puma’s Fall 2017 advertisements. Kylie had nothing but praise for her older sister’s announcement.
Perhaps, it is fitting that the sisters work for the competing companies: Puma and Adidas were, after all, created by a set of German brothers.
Jenner joins not only West but Pharrell and fellow model Karlie Kloss. Kloss tweeted out a welcome after Jenner made the announcement.

Kloss, Kendall, and Kylie are not the only models turning to represent athletic brands. Cara Delevingne works alongside Kylie at Puma and Gigi Hadid has worked with Reebok since 2016. Meanwhile, her sister Bella Hadid’s newest campaign for Nike dropped just days before Jenner’s announcement. With her family connection and a trend towards models-as-ambassadors-for-sportswear, it’s no surprise that Jenner teamed up with Adidas.
No details have emerged as to how the ambassadorship will look. However, we do know that Jenner knows how to rock the stripes. We can’t wait to see more.
