Early this year, HGTV announced that they were adding an Atlanta version of Flip or Flop to their roster. However, at the time no other details could be given. Now it’s official that Flip or Flop Atlanta will premiere next month and the couple doing the renovations have been revealed.
Ken and Anita Corsini will be the host of the new show. Like all of the other Flip or Flop shows, they’re a married couple who work together at their house flipping business. They’ve flipped over 100 house in a year in Metro Atlanta, and like to rehabilitate old southern homes. However, some of the homes are abandoned for years and infested with squatters who destroy the properties.
The Corsini’s have been married for 17 years and have three kids. Both are Atlanta transplants who first met while attending the University of Georgia. Now they own Georgia Residential Partner, a real estate investment company that they stated in 2005. Since then they’ve bought and sold well over 500 properties.
Ever since the original host of Flip or Flop, Tarek and Christina El Moussa, separated and divorce HGTV has been spitting out different versions of the Los Angeles-based show in other cities. Earlier this year Flip or Flop Las Vegas premiered, and Atlanta is the next installment in line. After the Atlanta franchise, Nashville, Fort Worth, and Chicago are the next to go up. Most of these versions are set to premiere next year.
There were rumors that Tarek and Christina would continue working on the original Flip or Flop franchise despite their divorce. However, there’s no word yet on what is happening with the former couple and their show. HGTV rolling out all of these franchises might be a sign that they aren’t coming back.
HGTV’s Flip or Flop Atlanta premieres Thursday, July 20th at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
