Former Oasis lead singer, Liam Gallagher, announced yesterday plans for his forthcoming solo debut, As You Were, which will be released on October 6th from Warner Brothers records.
The announcement follows the Manchester-born singer’s surprise performance at the One Love Manchester benefit concert, on June 4th, which he dedicated to the victims of the Manchester terror attack.
As You Were will feature Gallagher’s new single, “Wall of Glass,” one of four brand new tracks featuring GRAMMY Award-winning producer/songwriter, Greg Kurstin, who’s most recent credits include the production of Halsey‘s Hopeless Fountain Kingdom and The Foo Fighters forthcoming album, Concrete and Gold.
The remainder of the production was handled by Dan Grech-Marguerat, who has previously worked with Radiohead, Kaiser Chiefs, Dragonette, Wolf Alice, The Vaccines, Mumford & Sons and Regina Spektor, to name a few.
“I didn’t want to be reinventing anything or going off on a space jazz odyssey,” Gallagher said in a release. “It’s the Lennon Cold Turkey’ vibe, The Stones, the classics. But done my way, now.”
In addition to announcing the release of his first-ever solo album, Gallagher has also announced the dates for his upcoming U.S. and Canadian tour:
November 13 – San Francisco – The Warfield Theatre
November 18 – Denver – The Gothic Theatre
November 20 – Minneapolis – First Avenue
November 23 – Toronto – Rebel
November 25 – Boston – House of Blues
November 27 – New York – Terminal 5
November 30 – Philadelphia – Union Transfer
Tickets go on sale on June 29, and fans who purchase tickets will also be eligible to receive a physical or digital copy of the album as well. As You Were is now available for pre-order, via Gallagher’s website and Apple Music. Be sure to stay tuned to Salute Magazine for more.
