Beyoncé Helps her Hometown of Houston

The superstar stays loyal to her roots

Beyoncé is currently working with her charity, BeyGOOD, to bring assistance to those suffering from Hurricane Harvey in her hometown of Houston. Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and the original members of Destiny’s Child who left the group, LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson, grew up and formed the group in Houston.

Harvey has been devastating. The tropical storm made landfall four days ago and has proven to be the fiercest hurricane to hit the U.S. in 13 years. It is reported that more than 30,000 residents have been effected by the storm and need shelter. At least nine have died in the Houston area. The hurricane hits home for Beyoncé, as she told The Houston Chronicle late Monday,

“My heart goes out to my hometown, Houston, and I remain in constant prayer for those affected and for the rescuers who have been so brave and determined.”

Beyoncé’s BeyGOOD foundation was established in 2013 and partners with global charities to provide housing, food and medical assistance to those in need. With the help of her pastor and the BeyGOOD foundation, the singer is putting full force effort into trying to come up with the best plan of action for help those in Houston suffering from the storm.
