Rapper MattG! recently dropped the visuals for his latest single “Honda Freestyle.”
The video compliments the single very well. The melodic song messes together with the smooth verses and vibe plays out in the visuals. Directed by David Wept in black and white, the video shows Matt chilling in an older Honda (looks like an accord) with his freinds. The crew hangs out while drinking, eating Chinese food, and smoking weed.
It’s almost like the modern version of those old movies where the kids hung out at some type of “look out point” like a hill or a cliff. In the movies or television series, they would chill with each other while listening to music, and possibly partake in drugs and alcohol. At least that’s what the cool kids did.
MattG! is a Durham native, who popped up on the scene as a spoken word artist back in 2012. The 23-year-old released a collection of poems and short stories titled The Last Poet Society. As a writer, Matt’s collection received a lot of positive reviews, with one of them coming from the great Maya Angelou.
He’s currently finishing his debut EP titled Boy Next Door. Matt has enlisted some of the hottest up and coming producers in North Carolina to help develop the project.
