It’s a Saturday in the SEC and it is time to look over some news coming into the games this week. Several intriguing matchups can be seen across the football landscape today. LSU and Mississippi State has the potential to be the best matchup of the weekend, that isn’t named Louisville-Clemson. Tennessee and Florida will also do battle on the gridiron this weekend, in what could be an important game in determined the SEC East.
For the LSU-Mississippi State game, the LSU Tigers will have Arden Key returning at defensive end. Key is expected to be fully healthy after having undergone shoulder surgery during the offseason. LSU goes into Starkville as a touchdown favorite, but anything can happen it Starkville. Mississippi State has another dynamic quarterback in Nick Fitzgerald leading the Bulldogs and this game will likely be an excellent game to watch.
The Tennessee-Florida game always seems to have a hand who goes to Atlanta, to be the representative from the SEC East. This season should not be any different in regards to the Volunteers-Gators matchup. Florida has question marks coming into this matchup. Will Florida shake off what has been an emotional time in Florida, do to Hurricane Irma? Can the Gators withstand a talented Volunteers’ team without some key players including star wide receiver Antonio Callaway ? To me this game is a pick em. I think it will be a fourth quarter game, but this one is a tough one to predict, in what is an important early season contest.
Plenty of games to keep an eye on in the SEC today. If you can get out to a game, or do what I plan on doing and putting as many games on the flat screen as I can today. Enjoy your college football Saturday, it should be a great one.
