Gigi Hadid’s third collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger was shown last night as part of London Fashion Week at the Roadhouse venue in Camden. Hilfiger’s inspiration for the collection stemmed from “glam rock.”
“When I first came to London in the Seventies I was inspired by the way the bands dressed and the shops on Kings Road – it’s something that’s always stayed with me. This is where punk and glam rock were born and that British influence is laced into this collection.”
The show’s opening was a Hadid family affair. Gigi opened the show, followed by Bella, and then their younger brother Anwar. Other supermodels that graced the runway are Sara Sampaio and Hailey Baldwin.
The woman of the hour stunned in black leather shorts, a black bra top, a floral and plaid printed dress, over the knee socks, and black heeled leather boots. Gigi gave off rock vibes with her dark eye makeup and smoldering stare.
Fellow Victoria’s Secret angel, Joan Smalls also graced the runway, sporting black leather pants and a cropped sweatshirt with a glittery tiger graphic and red, white, and blue stripes, perfectly representing the All American brand.
The collection featured a lot of plaid shirts and and dresses and red, white, blue, and black were the dominant colors carried through the ensembles. Hilfiger x Gigi kept the simplicity and American classic, polished style that the brand is famous for while adding a punk rock effect to appeal to a younger age demographic and place a unique twist on Hilfiger’s usual collections.
Each of these looks became available to purchase immediately after the show, in an effort to stay up to date with technology and the ever-changing world of social media.
To turn the runway show into an unforgettable event, The Chainsmokers performed and circus acts dangled from the air above the audience as the grand finale.
