One of the biggest surprises of the was the Xscape reunion. After almost 20 years and a whole lot of fighting, the ladies of one of the most popular 90s R&B groups found their way back together. And they’ve decided to document their comeback in a brand new reality series.
The show is called Xscape: Still Kickin’ It and will air on Bravo. The same network that is home to The Real Housewives of Atlanta, which group member Kandi Burruss-Tucker is a cast member on. Viewers will get to see the ladies navigate their reunion as they prepare for key performances. After almost 20 years of separation, there’s no doubt that the group will encounter some drama as they make their way back to the stage.
Earlier this year, Xscape announced that they were coming back together during an interview at an Atlanta radio station. Initially, the story was that Tamika Scott finally apologized to Kandi on the air for the lies that she spread about her group member back in the day. However, the truth is that the girls decided to come together after hearing that an unauthorized biopic was being made about their lives.
Rumors say that Jermaine Dupri is involved in this biopic, however, the ladies have said that he has nothing to do with it. In fact, since Jermaine owns the rights to all of their music, he was simply contacted for licensing. In addition to shooting this reality show and performing together, the ladies have made it known that they are in the process of creating their own biopic. The story will start at the beginning and end in present day.
Everyone already knows what Kandi has been up to via RHOA. Not only did she find her husband and had a baby on the show, she also created a sex toy line and opened a restaurant. She’s also still a respected writer and producer, creating chart-topping hits. As for Tameka “Tiny” Harris, her life has played out in the public too as rapper T.I.‘s wife. She had her fourth child last year, which makes seven altogether for the couple.
Recently, Tiny and T.I. have been going through a very rough patch in their marriage that almost resulted in divorce. They’ve even let their separation play out in the last season of their reality show T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle. While apart, she took the opportunity to create a few businesses and focus on her daughter, Zonnique Pullin‘s, music career.
LaTocha Scott has been seen over the years, singing on different songs for other artists. She was also a cast member on R&B Divas: Atlanta. Her sister Tamika Scott has made appearances in stage plays and films. All of the ladies are currently married with kids.
