Everyone in fashion knows about the disturbing story of the death of one of fashion’s biggest icon’s Gianni Versace. For months now we have all been in anticipation of the Ryan Murphy FX original The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.
Season two gives a dark, disturbing look at the final days of Gianni Versace and a look into the mind of his killer Andrew Cunanan. In this season, the story starts with the killing and works backward going into how the troubled mind of Cunanan warped into one of a killer.
From what we have seen so far, the cast which consists of Edgar Ramirez (Gianni Versace), Penelope Cruz (Donatella Versace), Darren Criss (Andrew Cunanan), and Ricky Martin ( Antonio D’Amico) (below) shot the movie at the Versace Mansion and in various locations in Miami.
The show’s exclusive location adds some extra drama to the story, and if the acting matches the care that the show’s creator took with the site and aesthetics of the season, it is sure to rattle the cages of many. In a recent interview with Bazaar, director Ryan Murphy spoke on how difficult it was to shoot the assassination scene.
“It was tough to shoot; the crew was crying, and we were all very emotional doing it.” -Ryan Murphy
