The New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis lead the team to victory against the Los Angeles Lakers.
When you’re 7ft 3inches tall, not much can get in your way. Last night the Latvian power forward for the New York Knicks, Kristaps Porzingis, showed the Los Angeles Lakers and those watching in the stands at Madison Square Garden precisely why he got drafted in 2011.
In a tight game where the Lakers fought to keep up, Porzingis was the secret weapon the Knicks needed to keep the former kings of the western conference at bay. Porzingis shot free-throws from past the half-court mark that seemed to float into the net when he released the ball from his fingertips.
In the final score, Kristaps Porzingis and the Knicks finished in overtime to win against the Lakers with a score of 113-109. Porzingis was responsible for scoring 37 points, 11 rebounds, and one assist. Although the team had a victory, they are still sitting in the 9th ranking position in the eastern conference.
Porzingis and his teammates will have to work harder than they have been recently when they face the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday who is ninth in the western conference.
