Prada was pinched early Thursday morning when thieves broke into their Tony Via Della Spiga store in Milan.
According to WWD, the Prada Store at Milan’s Tony Via Della Spiga was robbed of massive amounts of accessories and other merchandise. The two masked thieves broke into the Prada store by breaking one of the windows and got away with an estimated 118k dollars worth of luxury merchandise.
Italian officials have launched an investigation, but things are still in the early stages. When contacted by WWD, Prada officials did confirm the robbery but would not comment further.
In the current world economic climate, it seems as though robberies like this one may be on the rise as we inch closer to the Christmas holiday. Political uncertainties and jobs wavering all around, the money to obtain luxury goods is drying up for many. Luxury goods are a wonderful Christmas present, but not with the price tag of prison time.
