After a seven year split, late last year alternative band Live announced the reunion of their original line-up. With Ed Kowalczyk back in the fold, the band this year conquered a string of 26 shows.
These included dates with Guns N’ Roses in arenas, spots in major festivals like Lollapalooza, and headlining their own shows in five countries.
Now with great anticipation Live looks to the future as they prepare to make an even bigger splash in 2018 with more shows and new music.
In a recent press release it was revealed that Live is planning on not only doing an even bigger tour in 2018, but also recording a new single and releasing it this Spring.
Kowalczyk and Chad Taylor in a short Q&A in the release talk about how the reunion has them revitalized, energized, and inspired to write new material.
“It was by design that we went out and played these amazing festivals first, before putting any music out”, says Kowalczyk. “We wanted the inspiration that we anticipated would be massive from the fans to be in our hearts when we went into a studio/recording period. It worked like a charm. I am more excited than ever to hit the studio with the boys and put out some kick-ass music asap..stay tuned!”
Taylor’s excitement mirrored Kowalczyk’s. Taylor says:
“At this very moment, our recording studio in York is all vibes, literally setting the stage for what should be our most adventurous writing session in years. Ed and I have been woodshedding and I’m really encouraged by our songwriting progress. Performing on stage, at all the shows throughout 2017, has us really ready to rock, something I know our fans have been wanting. Most important, we’re having so much f**kingfun being in and enjoying our band!”
No word has yet been given on the name or exact release date of the single, nor any of the upcoming tour dates.
