Vans followed a muted color palette for their men’s collection. Green, blue, white, gray, and brown seem to be the dominant shades mixing together to create effortlessly cool, laidback ensembles.

The men’s shoe of the moment are the all white Canvas Old Skool low rise sneakers. One model pairs the sneakers with Vans’ Starboard Windbreaker priced at $80. The same color block pattern and design of the windbreaker are shown in the Starboard Pullover Hoodie. The vibe of the new men’s collection seems to center around pieces that are functional and trendy, but still have the skateboarder, Californian feel that Vans is famous for.

Vans opted for a much softer color palette throughout their women’s collection. Pale pinks, whites, and blues contrasted nicely against dark hues of black. The collection’s slogan is “Pretty Powerful” which perfectly describes the colors and patterns of the clothing.

While the men’s collection seemed to focus on color blocking, the women’s collection focuses on embroidery and appliqués. The Souvenir Satin Embroider Jacket  is a bomber style piece featuring black and white striping. Graphics of pale pink flowers with lions sitting above them are sewn onto the chest.

The women’s collection’s statement sneakers are the $55 Checkerboard Slip-ons. They’re enough of a statement shoe to stand out, but enough of a neutral to go with any look. Another popular trend throughout the lookbook is layering pale pink t-shirts over long black sleeve shirts for a perfect balance of ruggedness and gentleness.
