Earlier this year Post Malone and 21 Savage were lucky enough to be able to each score their first number one hit with the anthemic tune “Rockstar.”
It would seem however that neither of them wrote the song, as T-Pain and Joey Badass are claiming the credit for that accolade.
This all came about when earlier this week an alleged leak of the song appeared on the internet with no parts from 21 Savage and extra verses from T-Pain and Joey Badass.
Many people who listened thought that this was going to be the official remix of the song, but as it turns out according to T-Pain and Joey Badass this is the original version of “Rockstar.”
T-Pain’s writing claim came about when a Twitter user by the name of Adamh904 was none too shy or reluctant about expressing his immense disdain for the alleged remix of “Rockstar” toward T-Pain, saying:
“@TPAIN WHY YOU GOTTA MURDER THE “Rockstar” remix F***!!!!💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 #WIN #NAPPYBOY.”
T-Pain chose not to address the hatefulness of the comment, but instead decided to clear up the misconception by responding:
“That’s the original. They took me off. And put 21 on. Me and Joey had it first”
“This is facts… I actually co-wrote the song w post 🙂 quietly got my first #1 off that 💰💰💰 more ghostwriting in 2018”
As of this moment no one from Post Malone’s record label Republic Records has stepped forward to confirm or deny any of the claims put forth by T-Pain and Joey Badass concerning their part in the creation of “Rockstar“.
