Kendrick Lamar Joins Marvel’s Black Panther Squad

Musical Destiny

Marvel’s upcoming Black Panther movie will be a blockbuster.

Accessories such as the soundtrack are being sprinkled with stardust.

On Thursday, Kendrick Lamar dropped the effort’s lead single with his songstress SZA.

“All The Stars” is a mid-tempo banger that is custom-fit for radio while holding on to its soul.

While not quite an anthem, it certainly does set the tone for one of 2018’s most anticipated films.

The bigger news here is that Lamar and his partner at Top Dawg Entertainment Anthony Tiffith are curating/producing the movie’s entire sonic affair.

According to Marvel, Lamar is thrilled to oversee the film’s track list.

“Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is amazing, from its cast to its director,” Lamar stated. “The magnitude of this film showcases a great marriage of art and culture. I’m truly honored to contribute my knowledge of producing sound and writing music alongside [director] Ryan [Coogler] and Marvel’s vision.”

Coogler discussed his thoughts on the pairing.

“I am honored to be working with such an incredible artist whose work has been so inspirational, and whose artistic themes align with those we explore in the film,” Coogler stated. “I can’t wait for the world to hear what Kendrick and TDE have in store.”

Tiffith shared his thoughts from a business perspective.

“Working on such a powerful movie is a great opportunity,” he said. “We’re always working on new goals at TDE, so teaming up with Disney, Marvel Studios and the Black Panther film makes perfect sense.”

This collaboration has probably been in the works for a minute as “DNA” was featured in Black Panther’s San Diego Comic-Con footage.

Truthfully, there is not a better artist to help mine mainstream gold this project that is set to shatter glass ceilings.
