2017 NFL AP/PFF All-Pro Teams

The 2017 NFL regular season is over, and that means a cavalcade of awards will be handed out to the best players in the league across the rest of January. The Pro Bowl teams have already been released, and this week, two major media outlets have named their All-Pro teams for this past year in football.

First, the Associated Press announced their selections today. A national panel of 50 media members sent in their picks, which were then compiled into one list. Here are the results (full voting can be found here).

First-team

QB: Tom Brady, New England Patriots

RB: Todd Gurley, Los Angeles Rams

WR: Antonio Brown, Pittsburgh Steelers; DeAndre Hopkins, Houston Texans

TE: Rob Gronkowski, New England Patriots

Flex: Le’Veon Bell, Pittsburgh Steelers

LT: Andrew Whitworth, Los Angeles Rams

LG: Andrew Norwell, Carolina Panthers

C: Jason Kelce, Philadelphia Eagles

RG: David DeCastro, Pittsburgh Steelers

RT: Lane Johnson, Philadelphia Eagles

Edge rushers: Calais Campbell, Jacksonville Jaguars; Cameron Jordan, New Orleans Saints

The Rams led the way with six selections, with the Steelers in second with four. Antonio Brown was the lone unanimous choice. There were a total of 15 first-time selections. Budda Baker and Jamal Agnew were the only two rookies to make the final list. Additionally, Le’Veon Bell, Calais Campbell, Xavier Rhodes and Pharoh Cooper all made the second-team list at different positions.

There was plenty of crossover between the AP and PFF, but the latter had a much more balanced list in terms of teams represented. PFF’s second team differed heavily from the AP’s as well.
