Everybody has been longing for it and now it’s finally going to happen. The Distillers plan on performing their first reunion, kicking in 2018 with dynamism.
The band originally shaped by the bodacious, Brody Dalle, made their first unveiling in 1998. Due to a lot of “unhealthy habits,” the spunky steamrollers departed ways for the next couple of years.
However, at the start of the new year, the group began teasing fans with a possible comeback. Hinting a sudden rebound by posting a 35-second clip on their Twitter page, a clue towards possible new music in the making with the original veterans of street punk. Of course, this had diehard fanatics’ jaws dropping, as they blew up social media feeds with questions on where this was going.
Two days ago, their questions were finally answered. The Distillers landed their first gig at the upcoming The Shaky Knees Music Festival, where they will be performing together for three days straight. The last time the quartet stepped onto a stage was back in 2006, so of course, this is a big deal. The Shaky Knees Fest, which takes place in Atlanta, Georgia, recently posted its lineup, featuring Jack White, Queens Of The Stone Age, The National, The War on Drugs, Fleet Foxes, Andrew W.K., Tenacious D, Jimmy Eat World, David Byrne, and a slew of others.
Tickets are on sale now, and by the looks of it could be selling out fast. Although it’s great that the band are finally making moves, and patched up the past, there are no official tours or plans for an album as of yet. But by the looks of things, its promising that there will be more shows taking place around the globe in 2018. The Festival begins in May from the 4th-6th and fans are already ecstatic. For now, there is something worth checking out later this year.
