The Canadian doyens of post-rock, The Broken Social Scene made a grand return last summer after staying incognito for seven years, even hinting a possible tour in the works.
The Indie collective started dropping a tease into what’s expected with singles like “Hug of Thunder” and “Halfway Home” which was their first track to promote their upcoming fifth studio album dubbed Hug of Thunder released via Arts & Crafts last July.
Not portrayed as a ‘typical’ band the group is seen a plethora of members ranging in size shaping them to stand out like a sore thumb, making them all the more unique among fans. After waiting around for what seemed like ages, the band finally announced a U.S. series of tours coming this spring.

We are bringing the Hug of Thunder Tour back to the United States to continue our mission of ripping ourselves open to the vulnerable thank you letters of these times. Come celebrate all that we can be together. Bring your lungs and hearts. Tickets on sale Friday / Saturday. Link in bio.
They will journey to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic March 2 first before making their way into the States in Austin, Texas at Stubbs March 23. Afterwards, they will plot through North America for the long run and will wrap up in Montclair, New Jersey at the Wellmont Theater April 8.
However, if you can’t see them in any of the upcoming locations, fear not. This summer the unified cluster will also play at three enormous festivals. These events include London’s All Points East (June 2), Tennessee’s Bonnaroo (June 7-10) and Portland, Oregon’s Pickathon (Aug. 3-5).
Tickets will be on sale starting this Friday and Saturday, but there will be a pre-sale found on Spotify starting Thursday, Feb 1. The gang is also funding a buck from each ticket purchased to benefit the cause, Partners In Health to help provide proper health care for those in need.
