While much of the attention leading up to the Super Bowl is centered on what’s happening on the field, New Era has released a line of exclusive caps that celebrate the state of Minnesota, where the game is taking place.
New Era didn’t shy away from color when designing their new caps, creating two ultra violet purple hats embroidered with the NFL emblem. One is leather on the exterior and the other is a shiny, silk-like material.
Other simpler, gray hats, available in both caps and beanie styles, feature a patch reading “LII” sewn onto the front. New Era’s Super Bowl 52 hat selection may be creative and fashionable, but the choice to focus mostly on Minnesota instead of the two teams who will go head to head tomorrow night is an interesting one.
Their collection focuses on the game itself which is viewed by more than 100 million people each year. It is easy to lose sight of Minnesota, the state hosting football’s biggest night, and focus on whether the Eagles or Patriots will take home the trophy. New Era celebrates Minnesota and the NFL with their collection, leaving the game day competition behind.
