Meek Mill’s “Dreams and Nightmares” has popped off.
The title track from Mill’s 2012 LP was the rallying cry for the Philadelphia Eagles when they won the Super Bowl on Sunday.
The song was first noted to have had an affiliation with the Eagles January 21st after their win at the NFC championship game against the Minnesota Vikings.
It only seems fitting that the Eagles choose one of Philly’s very own hottest, contemporary rappers to celebrate with.
The song reappeared after the Eagles’ victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday, where they blasted it as they left the field and entered the locker room.
Dan Hanzus, Around the NFL writer and broadcaster, caught footage of the celebration and posted it on Twitter Sunday night. Watch the video here.

The track itself is a triumphant track that talks of Meek’s own rise to success.
“I used to pray for times like this/ so I had to grind like that to shine like this.”
Being that this is the first championship for the Eagles, it’s no surprise that they would relate to the grind Meek had to put in to shine.
Imagine how the Eagles felt rapping along to the hometown boy spitting a message that they can relate to during their moment of victory.
According to XXL, the track achieved 1.47 million streams on the Monday following the Super Bowl, which was a 71% increase in streams from the day prior to the game.
Unfortunately Meek was unable to celebrate with the Eagles, as he is currently incarcerated in the State Correctional Institution in Philly serving a 2-4 year sentence for repeated violation of his probation.
Billboard cites a statement Meek gave to NBC’s John Clark, saying that he felt “especially proud to be from the great city of Philadelphia. All the heart that the Eagles showed in winning the Super Bowl has given the best fans in the world real hope and inspiration and I’m truly honored.”
With that said, congratulations to the Eagles and people of Philadelphia, while prayers go out to Meek in hopes for a speedy discharge from prison. In the meantime, check out Meek’s triumphant anthem bel0w.
