Will Smith spoofs Jaden Smith’s ‘Icon’ video

It’s one thing to embarrass your children for the heck of it, but comedian Will Smith did it in a very heartfelt yet hilarious way.

Following in his dad’s footsteps, Jaden Smith grew into a young man of many talents. Back in November, the 19-year-old released his music video “Icon” a track off of his latest debut album SYRE. Since then his view count has been sky-rocketing to the top. Now flourishing into a well-rounded artist in the limelight, Smith has earned his recognition.

Recently, the young hip-hop star hit 10 million streams on Spotify. It’s no wonder his dad had to soak up the moment in a very over the top way. As the perfect way of saying congratulations, Will Smith decided to upload a snippet that parodies his son’s “Icon” video. Just like any”typical” dad the all-star actor pays attention to the smallest of details to ensure he recreates the scenario perfectly.

Down to the same gold-chain, grill, haircut, poses, and just overall getup,  it cannot be mistaken, that the two are father and son. As the music cuts off, Smith showcases how proud he is of his son delivering him the following message.

“I’m proud of you baby,” he shouts in the clip via Instagram. “Congratulations, man, 100 million! Congrats, I love you.”

In response to the love, Jaden returned his appreciation to his father in the post comments.

“Dad this is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. You’re the best father anyone could ask for,” he said. “Thank you for allowing me to express myself even when I take it to (sic) far sometimes. I love you more than you will ever know because you taught me how to love. Also, thank you for having the best Instagram on planet earth.”

At least the message got out loud and clear to just about the whole world, but you can’t blame a proud parent.
